The boom of crypto space has been phenomenal since 2020! Though the boom has resulted in the mass adoption of the crypto space, it has also raised a lot of questions regarding the safety of the asset class and also the authenticity of the various crypto tokens coming out in the market.

It is always advisable to conduct your own thorough research on any token before diving into an investment, it is also the responsibility of any crypto exchange to share the right link with their customers to negate any confusion or stop any malicious attempts. In today’s article, we will share links to CoinDCX’s apps, official email ids, and answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

            Three Golden Rules of CoinDCX

Don’t Rush: Unauthenticated activities usually make us hurry. Take your time to ask questions and think it through before making a decision.

Cross-check: Do some research and background checks to verify the details you are getting. Does it seem too good to be true?

Don’t Respond: Our personnel will never message you personally asking for your personal information or demand payment for any assistance.

How to identify illegitimate emails which are NOT from CoinDCX

            • The sender’s email address or phone number doesn’t match the name of the company that the sender claims to be from.
            • The email has been sent to a different mailing address than the one you have submitted to CoinDCX.
            • The message starts with a generic greeting, like “Dear customer.” Most legitimate companies will include your name in their messages to you.
            • A link appears to be legitimate but takes you to a website whose URL doesn’t match the URL of the company’s website.
            • The message looks significantly different from other messages that you’ve received from the company.
            • The message requests personal information, like a credit card number or account password.
            • The message is unsolicited and contains an attachment.

Such emails are from sources other than CoinDCX, although they might appear to be from CoinDCX. Most often, the emails and the attachments in the email are malicious and should not be opened. DO NOT provide any sensitive information to any person/site.

CoinDCX will only send emails from the following ids

            FAQs and Tips

How do I identify when a fraudulent attempt is being made?

As cryptocurrency and allied digital assets are gaining popularity and the interest among the users is growing, there has been a rise in reports for such fraudulent attempts. There are multiple ways in which a new investor can be molded.

The hackers may pretend to be contacting you on behalf of CoinDCX. They can reach out to you pretending to be a part of the CoinDCX Support Team or Team Member on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook and ask you for money or any favor to resolve your issue. They might use technology to change the name and phone number that appear to you.

They may contact you by saying there’s a problem with one of your accounts and that you need to verify some information but have to pay a fee for it. Some may ask for your bank account details to verify a transaction.

One common aspect of it all is them attempting you to act urgently before you have enough time to think. Beware of any requests for your personal details or payment. Never transfer money or give credit card details, online account details, or copies of personal documents to anyone pretending to be from CoinDCX.

Some may use different domains to communicate with you. It’s always best to verify the identity of the contact by ensuring the email has been sent from our official domain @coindcx.com OR our official blue-tick marked channels on Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram.

What can I do to avoid such activities?

With the rising interest among users for cryptocurrency and allied digital assets, there has been an increase in the number of duping activities. We always request our users to stay vigilant and not to share any personal details.

CoinDCX does not have any official support assistance available on Instagram or Facebook. Always make sure that you are interacting with our official team either by verifying the blue tick mark on Twitter, Instagram, or Telegram channel or through support tickets raised from our official website or CoinDCX applications (Android/iOS).

Do not share your personal or financial information in response to a request that you didn’t expect. CoinDCX personnel will never call, email, or text you personally to ask for your personal information, bank account details, or credit card numbers.

Do not open suspicious texts, pop-up windows, or click on links or attachments in email; delete them. If unsure, always verify the identity of the contact by ensuring the email has been sent from our official domain @coindcx.com OR our official blue-tick marked channels on Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram.

CoinDCX will never ask you to hurry. We will give you as much time as you need to make a decision. Anyone who personally messages you first pretending to be from CoinDCX customer service and pressures you to share your information or pay them immediately is a potential hacker.

Take your time to respond. Try to do some checks and verifications before taking any steps. It would also help to consult someone you trust. You can always contact us through support tickets raised from our official website or CoinDCX applications (Android/iOS) or interact with the CoinDCX team on our official social media pages.

What kind of follow-up tricks are used by imposters?

Imposters are always looking to take advantage when you’re in a vulnerable circumstance. In some cases, they might try to extract more money from you through a follow-up trick.

For example, they might pretend to be from a law enforcement agency offering to investigate your previous issue and retrieve your money for a fee. Kindly note, law enforcement agencies do not charge any fee for their services.

This is only one of several other follow-up approaches used by imposters to get more money from you. New methods could be different from the original one and come quickly or after a while. Please be aware that imposters may have shared your details with other imposters who might use an entirely different approach and the new method may seem totally unrelated to the original one.

What to do if you were tricked by an imposter?

If you have been tricked, you may wish to file a report with the relevant enforcement authorities as a scam/fraud against the imposter and we’ll be more than willing to help you with any support/information needed for the same.

You can reach us through support tickets raised from our official website or CoinDCX applications (Android/iOS). You can also reach us through our official channels for Telegram and Twitter for any queries.

How to report such activities to CoinDCX?

If you think you noticed the CoinDCX brand name used incorrectly anywhere, please inform us immediately by raising a support ticket on our official website or CoinDCX applications (Android/iOS).
