ToggleWhat is Gitcoin (GTC)?
Gitcoin is an open-sourced decentralised platform wherein the coders and developers can work together in different programming languages and get paid accordingly. The platform aims to collaborate with open-source projects by incentivising developers for taking the projects for development. It intends to create a community which supports new infrastructure for Web3 including tools, technologies and networks to foster development in the open-source sphere.
The platform focuses on funding public goods projects which are non-rivalrous and non-excludable like projects related to clean air, infrastructure and privacy. The platform funds only those projects that address blockchain with the Ethereum ecosystem. The platform also holds hackathons, and bounties to encourage developers to join the platform. Moreover, the developers may further submit the project that they are working on, on Gitcoin and crowdsource funding directly from other contributors.

Besides, Web3 developers can also create and build projects and foster relationships through a collaborative program called the Kernel Fellowship.
